AN ENJOYABLE AND UNFORGETTABLE EXCURSION
TO THE OLD QUARTERS
Ha noi Old Quarter is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Hanoi, where the culture and a long history of Vietnam’s capital has been preserved. In the summer 2018, the students of grade 7 and 9 of Le Quy Don Secondary School had a chance to take part in an interesting excursion to The Old Quarter and The Sword Lake.
The distance from the school to the Old Quarter is quite far, it took us nearly an hour to get there by bus. But that added to the excitement and expectations of the students.
During this trip, we not only discovered more about the Old Quarter, but also enjoyed the specialties there. Each group was given a piece of paper with puzzles and hints to find out the name of the street and the restaurant that they will enjoy the food. At the same time, while finding the destination for the group, they had to perform interviews with the foreigners. What an exciting experience!
At about 11 o’clock, when all the tasks had been completed, we gathered to return to school. Everyone was very happy, excited to tell each other about how they solved the puzzle, found out the answers and enjoyed the specialties of the Old Quarter.
This trip helped all of us to learn a lot of interesting things about the Old Quarter in particular and Hanoi in general. Moreover, it also improved our communicating skills. We all hope there will be more amazing extracurricular activities like this!
